Merry Christmas to All!

We had a GREAT Christmas!!
Gramma Jean & Papa Larry came to visit us for Christmas! Mommy & Daddy thought it was awfully nice to have Christmas in our own house this year! The weather was AMAZINGLY nice so we spent some time outside. I showed them my new car and we played a little basketball. We went to church service and had a yummy turkey dinner on Christmas Day!

The anticipation of Christmas... though I wasn't sure what was really going to happen.
Peeking under the tree!

Christmas morning!

I got this road map rug and cars from Gramma & Papa!
Opening more presents...
I liked my Curious George movie too!
And GUESS WHAT?!! I got a whole stocking full of
MORE TRUCKS!!!
keep digging...
I got busy lining them up right away!!

Mommy and Daddy think it might have been a bad idea getting me so many trucks... (the tantrums seemed to have started just after my 2nd birthday - hello terrible twos!). All I ever want to do is play with my trucks! All I think of is TRUCKS, TRUCKS, TRUCKS!!! And they've learned to let me bring a truck or two everywhere we have to go. I have them when I eat & when I get my diaper changed. They sit on the counter when I (attempt to) go potty, take a bath and we even keep some in the car! The most trouble was when it was my bedtime...I didn't want to leave them and they wouldn't let me take them to bed with me. BOO! They've learned now that I have to say goodnight to my trucks before I go to bed. Watch the video and you'll see...

December Randoms...

Here's a few random pictures taken the last month...

Don't really remember what this was...
For some reason I put my hat on to watch TV.
I like to look at the tree
and you'll usually hear me say "Whoa, cool!"
Bath time!
Playing with shapes

Mommy & Daddy took me to Crown Center for my birthday, but it was WAAAYYYYY crowded! The plan was to go see Santa at the Crayola Christmas. We got there and the line was at least an hour and a half long!! Way longer than we all could've handled, especially around lunch time. So we went to the Crayola store instead and I got to do some coloring. We also played in a really cool toy store for a while.
Mommy & Daddy got this really cool chair for me!
Now I have my very own place to sit!
Auntie Megan stopped by too and brought me a birthday present!
I have fun with these colorful blocks!

My new car!

I received a visit from Gramma & Papa right before my birthday. They came down to bring me my Birthday/Christmas present - A NEW CAR!! LOOK AT IT!
Papa brought it in and it barely made it past the door and I had already jumped in it!
My exact words were, 'WHOA, COOL!!"
Trying to figure it all out
We took it outside for a spin!
Papa's helping me figure out the steering wheel.
I learned out to push down on the pedal, but I don't understand how to steer.
I just put my hands on the side doors and take off.
Daddy's steering for me
Sadie was excited too!
I LOVE MY NEW CAR!

We also made some Xmas candy while Gramma & Papa were here!
YUMMMMM!!!
YUMM!

Thanks Gramma & Papa!

Happy Birthday to Me!

Today is my 2nd Birthday!!
Hooray!!

Here's what's going on with me at 2 years:
  • I usually wake up between 6:30-7, but Mommy or Daddy don't come get me until 7. If I wake up early, I play in my crib or grab some books on the nearby shelf and read them. Once I'm dressed, I get my juice and cereal cup and sit down to watch cartoons while Daddy gets ready for work.
  • My favorite cartoons are Superwhy!, Cat in the Hat, Curious George and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and occasionally I like to watch the movie Babe. I LOVE all the animals on there!
  • I'm getting better at eating my food. I eat a good breakfast - usually Dad's scrambled eggs, a banana and a waffle or toast. I still LOVE fruit and would eat it all day long if I could! Grilled cheese, chicken fries, ham slices, mac-n-cheese, sweet potato fries, cottage cheese and yogurt are part of the usual rotation. For snacks I love goldfish, graham crackers, fruit snacks and cereal bars.
  • I am finally close to getting rid of the morning nap. Only when I'm really cranky, I take one in the morning. I usually sleep from 2 1/2-3 hours in the afternoon.
  • I still LOVE my letters and numbers. I can say the whole alphabet and count to 13! I have alphabet flash cards that I play with. I like to lay them on the floor and bring you the letter you call out.
  • The phrases most often heard from me are: "Whoa, cool!"
    "I see you!"
    "There you are!"
I say good-bye to everything when we leave the house... "Bye Sadie. Bye trucks. Bye cars. Bye Sadie. Bye juice. Bye fish. Bye Sadie. Bye books. Bye Superwhy. Bye Sadie." And yes, I do tell Sadie good-bye multiple times!
  • I LOVE anything with wheels on it...cars, trucks, trains! I play with them all!
  • I LOVE to be outside. I grab my coat and drag it around the house so Mommy or Daddy will take me out. It doesn't always work though. I love pulling my big wagon around outside. And I love my new car!
  • I watch football with Daddy every weekend. It is easy for me to recognize when a team scores a touchdown. I raise my arms and yell, "Touchdown!". Sometimes Daddy gets upset when I cheer for the wrong team, especially if it's against his fantasy football team. He has me trained to cheer for any team in red - Huskers, Chiefs.
  • Sadie and I are still buds. She continues to herd me around the house - all the time!
  •  A few of my other favorites: doing 'the handshake' with Daddy (high five, knuckles, elbows, chest bump), animals & animal sounds, bubbles, books, coloring...
  • Bedtime is between 7:30-8. I have a pretty regular routine... we read a couple books, sing a couple songs, then lay down with my blanket. I only need my blanket at bedtime and you won't hear from me again until morning. Night-night!

Oh the weather outside is... WONDERFUL!

It's hard to believe that Christmas is just around the corner. It was nearly 50 degrees here today and supposed to get close to 63 degrees here on Thursday! We spent a little time outside today before my nap to burn some energy I had.  I got my wagon and the basketball out. Mommy pulled me around the backyard while Daddy threw the frisbee for Sadie.

Here's me trying to dribble the ball. I'm pretty good at it huh?
Maybe someday I'll be a basketball player...
