September 2019

Kalia was Leader of the Week in her class. She shared her favorite photos, was interviewed by her classmates and brought in this show-and-tell item that is special to her. She decided to make her own book about her classmates to share. Called My Compliment Book, she wrote a complimentary statement about everyone and drew a picture of them...including the class snake, James! The whole thing was her idea, written by her & illustrated by her. She was very proud of her book and we're looking forward to more books in the future!

The moon was extra large!

Another illustration by Kalia of her dance class...
and working hard in her Acro class

We finally got to the movie theater to see the new Lion King. It was SO good!
Kalia also likes to write jokes...

Storybook celebration at school...dressed up as the characters in

Liberty Fall Festival - waiting for the parade to start!
New headbands
And funnel cake that we waited at least an hour for that was scarfed up in seconds!
The ride where we officially declared that Kalia gets motion sickness. Don't worry, she didn't get sick until she got home.

Dance at the Jesse James Festival

Kalia joined the Performance Team for dance this year, which includes performing at a few more events than just the Spring recital. One of the events was performing at Kearney's Jesse James Festival, along with being in the parade.
Waiting patiently for the parade to start...
Kalia sure felt like she was queen of the float!
Ready for the performance!
Kalia did GREAT! Especially for only learning the dance 4 weeks ago!
Such a fun morning! The rain held off for the parade and performance, but then started pouring! We got out just in time!

Gramma & Papa's 50th Anniversary Dinner

We met in Omaha at Craig & Becky's house to watch the Huskers play, then headed out to a very nice dinner to celebrate Grandma & Grandpa's 50th Anniversary.
Grandpa shared memories of how he met Grandma, the dates they had, their wedding day and the kids they had while passing out pictures.
Each kid then shared memories they had of growing up in the Andreasen house. We were even able to FaceTime Joni & family in for the conversation.
