Kalia - 8 Months

We've been calling Kalia our curious climber this month. She is
VERY curious about everything around her. It seems like just a month ago she was doing the 'army crawl' to get around. In the past 4 weeks, she has mastered crawling and is now pulling herself up onto furniture and will take a few steps around the furniture. She also bravely starts to let go but always topples over. She is NOT as interested in toys as she is about climbing right now. If you're sitting on the floor with her she persistently climbs up you and over your legs over and over again until she wears out. And she's quick too! If you sit her in the middle of the floor and walk away, she's off and 'running' before you even turn around!

She is eating all of the same foods as last month, with the addition of a few more. She is also now eating some puff cereal and practing very hard a picking it up with her tiny little fingers. We found it's a good way to keep her occupied while we eat our dinner.
This was one of her first bites of puff cereal...
wasn't quite sure what to think of the texture.

Halloween

On Halloween, we met a group of friends before going trick-or-treating, visited & took a few pictures, then headed out to the neighborhood.
Kalia got all bundled up for the ride
My friend, Braxton (the Hulk), came with...
along with his brother Braylon (Batman).
We also met up with my friend, Fletcher (the cowboy)!

October 2013

It's been a busy month and I've been learning and doing a lot! At 'school', we've been learning about fall, leaves, acorns and pumpkins. I've been working on holding the pencil correctly, writing my name and coloring inside the lines too. At home, I've been helping out and trying to be a good big brother. I like to help feed Kalia and love to play with her. We enjoy laughing together!
Kalia likes to sit in her chair and play. Sometimes I help and talk to her about how I played with this when I was a baby. That seems to be the most common conversation in the house lately. Every time Kalia does something I ask Mom or Dad, "Did I do that when I was a baby?" or "Did I play with that when I was a baby?" Sometimes Mom pulls out my baby albums and show me pictures of me doing these things. I think it's really fun to see them.
I've been working REALLY hard at trying new foods. If I try a new food, I get a piece of candy. I've only done it a couple of times, but we're going to work on it more with my Halloween candy. Below, I got a sucker because I ate cooked carrots and drank some orange juice - 2 things I've always been afraid to try.
We brought a bunch of pumpkins back from Gramma & Papa's farm. Mom & I  painted a few & Dad carved some too!
